As far as neighborhoods go, we think you might enjoy Centro Historico, which is close to the venue, restaurants, bars, and local atractions.
It’s also part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so just walking around is an experience in itself—you’ll find beautiful 16th-century colonial architecture, lively markets, and some delicious street food (likely the best food you’ll have).

Getting there
Flying
Fly into Oaxaca International Airport with a connecting flight most likely through either Mexico City or Dallas (if coming from the USA).
GDL to OAX has a direct flight.
From the airport, you can easily get to your hotel by taking a taxi right outside the terminal or by using a shared shuttle. Shuttle tickets are available for purchase inside the airport.
Please note that both taxis and shared shuttles only accept cash, so be sure to have some on hand for your ride.
Getting around
Oaxaca Center is extremly walkable, however if you want to go a little bit further your best option is to hail a taxi. Ride-share apps like Uber are not available in Oaxaca.
USD is not accepted, so make sure to exchange cash to pesos.
